"Insight" in Shelter of Daylight

After surviving 13 rejections from various markets (5 of them fairly positive), I'm pleased to announce that my story "Insight" has been published in the latest Shelter of Daylight anthology. That's right: it's in PRINT!

I should receive my contributor's copy via snail mail soon, and when I do, I'll be sure to post a photographic excerpt. This tale's been with me for a while -- since my junior year of college, where it placed first in a campus-wide competition. The Shelter of Daylight version is similar in essence, but it's undergone some major revisions since 1998. For one thing, it's gotten a whole lot darker.

Editor Tyree Campbell doesn't mince words, and he's given some of my other submissions a severe dressing down. But here's what he had to say about "Insight": "Well, wow! Very good story, well done."  Yep, that pretty much made my day.

In other news, it appears that the "member" (formerly known as "follower") count around here has crept past 300. So a BIG thanks goes out to all of you new readers, as well as you faithful few who stop by every week. You're the best -- regardless of what King Leonidas thinks.
