A reprint of my flash fiction tale "Breathe" has been resuscitated by the kind folks at Schlock Magazine this week, and it's great to see one of my older stories featured at such a cool venue.
Written in college, "Breathe" originally appeared in Golden Visions Magazine a year ago. As a prerequisite for publication, the editors asked that I explain the protagonist's "gift" in detail, so I did; but I was never thrilled with that version. I like leaving some things to the reader's imagination, you know?
The Schlock version is my "director's cut," the way I really wanted to tell the story. Check it out when you get a chance, and let me know what you think.
As always, thanks for reading.
