This is my third Captain Quasar story published to date. "Captain Quasar and the 'If Only' Elixir of Opsanus Tau Prime" appeared at EDF in August of 2010, and "Captain Quasar and the Insurmountable Barrier of Space Junk" was featured at Ray Gun Revival in September of last year. Both were well-received and have managed to hold their own on each site's "Top 10 stories of all time" list: #3 at EDF and #1 at RGR, respectively. The captain apparently has an audience, and they seem to like him as much as I do.

So that's good news for the longer project I'm planning. A couple of months ago, I was invited to submit a Captain Quasar novel for potential online serialization, and while I haven't even started the first draft yet, I know it's probably a good idea to find homes for all of my shorter Quasar tales first; that way, I can keep building an audience leading up to the Big Show.
