The Power of Free
Well, I've gone and done it.
For a while now, I've heard how easy it is to sell one's work through Kindle Direct Publishing, and I've contemplated offering a compilation of all my published stories at some point in the future. I'm sure I will eventually.
But for now, you can pick up a Kindle copy of my story "Fool's Gold" which originally appeared in Pulp Empire's Heroes & Heretics anthology. So far, it's been downloaded over 250 times, and on Tuesday during my free promotion, "Fool's Gold" was ranked #4 among Amazon's free westerns (sandwiched between two Zane Grey novels). That was very cool.
Wednesday was the last day I offered "Fool's Gold" for free; today, the price jumped to a whopping 99 cents. We'll see if that scares readers away! This is an intriguing experiment for me, and I'll be sure to let you know how it goes. Feel free to spread the word!
(No Kindle? No problem. You can download the free reader for your PC.)
